- Which ones? Name them. Largest I know of was the Trailblazer project
- which was around 36 inches.

- Huh? Close but no cigar. They aren't hollow cylinders... they're
- either large solid rubber balls or large ribbed conical cylinders and
- no... they don't use them to send messages... gas moves particularly
- SLOWLY for any such nonsense. Around 20-30 mph top speed most of the
- time. It also requires a welding crew to cut into the line and place
- it in the line and cut out a section of the line at the other end.
- They cannot navigate through certain angles and they frequently get
- caught up in welding slag -- which is what they are designed to
- remove.

- Then you've never worked underground or in the natural gas or oil
- shipping industry. There is a reason why the Alaskan pipeline --
- which BTW, IS the size that you're looking for is ABOVE GROUND... it's
- because lines need maintenance and repair constantly... the bigger the
- line the more the headache. Mama earth moves slowly but she does
- move... anything that isn't natural doesn't move the way she does.
- Fact of nature. Pipes aren't flexible... neither are earthen shafts
- which is why I can't buy into any of the DUMB theories. The size,
- scope and logistics of it would make it impossible - regardless of the
- technology used.
